You’ve gone to the salon and got a banging style… now what?
It is critical that you properly care for your hair while it is styled. Many people get braided or twisted styles and do nothing else. This is wrong. You are neglecting your hair and not giving it the environment necessary for maximum hair growth. As time goes on, dirt and buildup will form clogging the pores in your scalp and slowing hair growth. To prevent this, follow the 3 steps to caring for your protective style.
Protect– tie your hair up nightly with your silk of satin scarf or bonnet. Cotton pillowcases not only rough up our hair cuticle but also suck the moisture out of our hair.
Cleanse- Healthy hair comes from a clean scalp. If you do not want to ruin your style by thoroughly washing your hair, use my favorite product… witch hazel. Squirt a little bit onto a cotton pad and rub it in between your parts. Witch hazel acts as an astringent and lifts any dirt, sweat, and buildup.
Moisturize- This is the key to keep your hair healthy. Use a light braid spray or leave-in conditioner every 2-3 days .
Follow these steps and keep those tresses healthy 🙂
